This is the field assembly instruction for the WA600-3. The steps match Komatsu's SEAW006000 field assembly manual from August 2004, and this copy also includes the inspection check sheet for field-assembled machines.

Fits

WA600-3 from serial 50001. The newer WA600-6 and WA600-6R have their own guides (GEN00036-02 and GEN00073-01).

What's in it

It starts with drawings, weights and dimensions of the shipped units, the schedule and tools. The tire and wheel assemblies go on first, including removing the axle stand and slinging. Then the muffler stack, cab assembly and ROPS canopy, and then the bucket.

The inspection check sheet is the useful extra. It covers fluids, antifreeze, the monitor lamps, the safety interlocks and the work equipment lever functions.

Dealers use the check sheet as a handover record. It's also a good checklist for anyone buying a WA600-3 that has been moved and rebuilt.

Table of contents

  • Drawings, weights and dimensions of the shipped units, schedule and tools
  • Tire and wheel assemblies, including removing the axle stand and slinging
  • Muffler stack, cab assembly and ROPS canopy
  • Installing the bucket
  • Inspection check sheet: fluids, antifreeze, monitor lamps, safety interlocks, work equipment lever functions

Good to know

The order of the steps matters more than it looks. Some parts have to go on before others to leave room for tools or slings, and the final checks confirm everything works before the machine is handed over. Following the guide as written avoids having to take something off again to get at a bolt behind it.

Before you buy

This is an assembly guide, not a repair manual. For troubleshooting and overhaul you'll want the machine's shop manual as well.
