Komatsu SK1026-5 Turbo Skid-Steer Loader Shop Manual (WEBM006000)

The SK1026-5 turbo is the big one in Komatsu's -5 skid steer line, with the S4D98E-2NFE turbo diesel. WEBM006000 is its shop manual, 258 pages of workshop information for the person who has to fix it.

What's in it

Most of the book is about the drive and hydraulics. It explains the hydrostatic transmission, the variable displacement pumps, the drive motors, the PPC valves and the main control valve. Then it gives you the pressures and pump settings to test against when the loader feels slow, pulls to one side or won't lift. The electrical chapter covers the sensors and the generator. Disassembly and assembly instructions cover the main components, and the maintenance standards list the wear limits for each part.

It's laid out the usual Komatsu way, so structure and function comes first, then testing and adjusting with troubleshooting, then teardown.

Rental yards and small contractors who keep SK1026s running will get the most out of it. A worn drive pump or a leaking control valve is an expensive guess to get wrong, and the test values let you prove the fault before you order parts.
