What's in it

It opens with the transportation posture table, which shows how the machine is set up on the truck. The assembly steps start with the additional weight and counterweight, the muffler stack and the air cleaner cap. Then the work equipment and bucket go on, and the boom and bucket potentiometers are set and greased.

After that comes the machine monitor adjustment, a step that's easy to skip but affects how the loader's controls and bucket positioning behave. The right-hand platform and handrail follow. The last section covers installing the split cab, with the tools and torques.

It's a shorter guide than the excavator and dozer books because the WA500 ships more complete, but the setup steps at the end still matter.

Table of contents

  • Transportation posture table
  • Additional weight and counterweight, muffler stack, air cleaner cap
  • Work equipment and bucket, boom and bucket potentiometers, greasing
  • Machine monitor adjustment after assembly
  • Right-hand platform and handrail
  • Split cab installation, tools and torques

Good to know

Read the whole guide before the machine arrives. It tells you how much room you need, what cranes and slings to have ready and which parts come separately, so nothing holds the crew up on the day. Then work through the steps in the order Komatsu gives them, and keep the torque values and fluid specs to hand as you go.

Before you buy

This is an assembly guide, not a repair manual. For troubleshooting and overhaul you'll want the machine's shop manual as well.
