GEN00089-00 is the field assembly instruction for the WA500-6. It covers the parts removed for shipping and, just as important, the setup and calibration once the loader is back together.

Fits

WA500-6 from serial 55001. The newer WA500-7 has its own guide, GEN00115-01.

Quick facts

  • Manual Number: GEN00089-00
  • Model: WA500-6
  • Serial: 55001 and up
  • Type: Field assembly instruction
  • Includes: Split cab, load meter calibration
  • Format: PDF, 77 pages

What's in it

It starts with the additional and standard weights, the floor mat, the lift arm and the bell crank. Then the bucket cylinder and bucket go on, along with the rim and tire assemblies and greasing.

The setup chapters cover the machine monitor, deleting the fault history and selecting the options fitted. Then come the lift arm angle, the EPC detent and starting current, and the bucket positioner. The load meter gets its own lift arm angle and empty calibration. The book ends with split cab installation, step by step, and a field check sheet.

If the calibrations are skipped, the loader will run, but the kickouts, positioner and load meter won't work properly. That's the main reason dealers keep this guide.

Good to know

Read the whole guide before the machine arrives. It tells you how much room you need, what cranes and slings to have ready and which parts come separately, so nothing holds the crew up on the day. Then work through the steps in the order Komatsu gives them, and keep the torque values and fluid specs to hand as you go.

Before you buy

This is an assembly guide, not a repair manual. For troubleshooting and overhaul you'll want the machine's shop manual as well.
