Komatsu PC8000 Hydraulic Mining Shovel General Assembly Procedure

This is revision 06 of the general assembly procedure for the PC8000, Komatsu's largest hydraulic mining shovel. It covers machines with diesel or electric drive, and with either a bullclam bucket or a backhoe front.

What's in it

It begins with the manpower, schedule, tool list and torques. Then come the crawler segments, the undercarriage, the cable reel unit, the final drives and the tracks. Next are the slew ring, the superstructure, the prime drive unit and the electric motor coupling.

The boom, counterweight, cab, hydraulic tank, coolers, ladders and walkways follow. After that come the harness connections, the HP hoses, the stick, the cylinders and the bucket or backhoe. The last section covers filling, the pre-start checks, fire suppression testing and the commissioning checks.
