Komatsu fitted later PC400-6 and PC450-6 excavators with the SAA6D125E-2 engine. SEBM023600 is the October 2003 supplement for the parts that changed with it.
PC400-6 and PC400LC-6 from serial 32488, and PC450-6 and PC450LC-6 from serial 12629. For everything else, use the base shop manual SEBM014506.
It covers the specifications and weight table, then the radiator, oil cooler and power train. The standard values for engine and electrical parts follow. Then come the exhaust color, fuel injection timing and boost pressure checks, and the turbocharger, cylinder head, aftercooler and cooler assemblies.
It's short at 38 pages, but if you're working on a later machine, the engine values here replace those in the base manual. Using the old figures on the SAA6D125E-2 can lead you to the wrong diagnosis.
Owners and mechanics running these 40 to 45-tonne excavators will want it with the base manual.
A supplement like this is easy to overlook, which is why figures from the standard machine sometimes end up being used on a special version. If your machine has the equipment covered here, check these pages before you test or adjust anything in that area, then go back to the base manual for the rest.
