What's in it

It covers the main assembly groups, the diesel drive, undercarriage and cab, then the hydraulic oil tank and hydraulic oil cooling. The controls and components, main pumps and pump regulation come next. The operating hydraulics chapter includes the backhoe boom and attachment cylinders. That's the main place this book differs from the shovel versions. Hydraulic track tensioning, the hydraulic access ladder and the central refilling system each have a chapter. It ends with notes on the hydraulic and electric circuit diagrams and the electronic monitoring system.

Mine maintenance crews use it for pump regulation, cooling faults, cylinder and hose work on the backhoe front, and for tracing alarms through the monitoring system.
