Komatsu Mining Germany wrote its PC3000 shop manuals for individual machines rather than for the model as a whole. This one belongs to PC3000-1 serial 6194, a diesel-drive front shovel with a loader bucket, and it's dated July 2006.

What's in it

It's set out by system. The main assembly groups chapter shows how the shovel is laid out: the diesel drive, control blocks, swing gear, undercarriage, travel drive and cab. The hydraulic oil tank chapter covers the filters, pressure switches and sensors. The oil cooling chapter explains the fan drive and the relief and solenoid valves, and gives the adjustments and checks to set them. After the controls and components comes the main pump chapter, where you'll find the pump regulation. That's the part most mechanics need when the shovel feels slow or the engine bogs under load. Operating hydraulics and the hydraulic track tensioning come next. This machine also has a hydraulically operated access ladder and a central refilling system, and both get their own chapters.
