What's in it

Section 10 covers structure and function for the engine-related parts, swing circle and machinery, travel motor, final drive, undercarriage, hydraulic pump, control valve, PPC and EPC valves, work equipment, electrical, the machine monitor and KOMTRAX. Section 20 has the standard value tables. Section 30 covers testing and adjusting, including the monitor service menu.

Section 40 is troubleshooting by failure code and in E, H and S modes. Section 50 covers disassembly and assembly. Unlike the -8 books, the -10 manuals have a separate section 60 for maintenance standards and wear limits, plus an appendix in section 80. The circuit diagrams are in section 90.

On a -10 machine, much of the diagnosis starts in the monitor service menu, and section 30 explains how to use it. It's a good book for dealer techs and independents taking on newer machines.
