Good to know

When a fault is intermittent, the drawings help you see every connector and junction the circuit passes through, so you can check them in turn rather than guess. It's worth marking up a printed copy with any changes you find on the machine, so the next person has an accurate set. A diagram book doesn't tell you what a reading should be. That's in the shop manual. What it does is show exactly how the machine is connected, which is the part that takes longest to work out without drawings. Used together, the two books make fault finding much quicker.
