GEN00054-04 is the field assembly instruction for the D375A-5E0, the version of Komatsu's 70-tonne class dozer that came before the -6.

Fits

D375A-5E0 from serial 50001. The D375A-6 has its own guides (GEN00097-01 and GEN00099-01), and so does the D375A-6R.

What's in it

It begins with specs, precautions, tools and torques. The first assembly steps deal with the chassis, the exhaust direction, the undercover and the pivot shaft. Then the undercarriage goes on, with the recoil springs and pivot chamber oil.

The blade lift cylinders come next, along with a fluids check and cranking the engine with no fuel injection, which builds oil pressure before the first real start. Cylinder air bleeding, the ripper and the tracks follow. The book ends with assembling and fitting the blade, then the cab and final checks.

Dealer crews and mine contractors use it for new deliveries and for dozers that have been split for transport between sites. With a machine this heavy, doing the steps in Komatsu's order saves a lot of re-lifting.

Good to know

Crews who do this work often print the step pages and the torque tables and leave the rest on a tablet. The guide also helps in reverse, when a machine has to be broken down for transport, because most steps simply run backwards. The final checks are worth doing in full and signing off, since they're your record that the machine was built correctly.

Before you buy

This is an assembly guide, not a repair manual. For troubleshooting and overhaul you'll want the machine's shop manual as well.
