What's in it

The first chapter covers the specs, kit layout, transport style, tools, torques and coating materials. Then the crew unloads the tractor and fits the track shoes. The blade is assembled next, then the blade lift cylinders, and the blade and ripper are installed.

Track tension, fluids, lubrication and cylinder air bleeding follow. Then the operator's cab goes on, with the work lamps, KOMTRAX parts and antenna. The last chapter is cab testing, changing the return filter and flushing the hydraulic circuit.

The return filter change and flushing at the end matter. They remove any dirt picked up while the hoses were open during shipping, before it reaches the pumps.

Good to know

Crews who do this work often print the step pages and the torque tables and leave the rest on a tablet. The guide also helps in reverse, when a machine has to be broken down for transport, because most steps simply run backwards. The final checks are worth doing in full and signing off, since they're your record that the machine was built correctly.

Before you buy

This is an assembly guide, not a repair manual. For troubleshooting and overhaul you'll want the machine's shop manual as well.
