What's in it

After the general specs and fluids, section 10 covers structure and function for the power train, torque converter, transmission, axles, differentials, steering, brakes, hydraulics, PPC valves, work equipment and electrical. Section 20 gives the standard values, pressure checks, adjustments and troubleshooting.

Section 30 covers disassembly and assembly. Section 40 is the maintenance standards, with wear limits and repair standards for each part. Section 90 has the circuit diagrams.

Good to know

A tip from shops that use these books every day: read the structure and function pages for a system before you start testing it. Knowing how the valves and circuits are meant to work makes the test results much easier to read. The standard values then tell you whether a reading is normal, borderline or out of spec, and the wear limits decide whether a part goes back in.
