What's in it

After the general specs and fluids, section 10 covers structure and function for the power train, torque converter, transmission, axles, steering, brakes, hydraulics, PPC and EPC valves, work equipment and electrical. Section 20 gives the standard values, pressure checks, adjustments and troubleshooting.

Section 30 covers disassembly and assembly, section 40 the maintenance standards and wear limits, and section 90 the circuit diagrams.

At this size, big components like the transmission and axles are usually changed out and rebuilt in the shop. This book has the procedures and limits for both jobs. Mine maintenance planners also use the wear limits to schedule rebuilds.

That order saves money, because a reading that's close to spec usually points somewhere other than the part you suspected first.
