The SAA4D95LE-5 is a 3.26 litre four that Komatsu fitted to a lot of mid-size machines. SEN01966-14 is the standard engine shop manual for it, also marked SEN02121-14.
SAA4D95LE-5. The manual names these machines: PC120-8, PC130-8, PC88MR-8, PC78US-8, PC78UU-8, PC138US-8 and PC138USLC-8 excavators; D31EX-22, D31PX-22, D37EX-22 and D37PX-22 dozers; WA150-6 and WA150PZ-6 loaders. The KOHAG-spec version in the WA90-6 and WA100M-6 has its own manual, SEN04357-00.
The book covers the index, safety, specs and emission information, then structure, function and maintenance standards. Testing and adjusting gives you the standard values and procedures. The troubleshooting chapter takes you from symptom or fault code to cause, which matters on an electronically controlled engine like this. Disassembly and assembly and the repair and replacement of parts finish it off.
With that many machines sharing one engine, it's a useful book for dealers, engine rebuilders and fleet shops. Typical work is low power, fuel system faults, overheating and full rebuilds.
An engine book is most useful on the bench. Measure each part as it comes out, compare it with the limits in the maintenance standards, and you'll know what can be reused before you place a parts order. The torque tables and tightening sequences matter just as much on the way back together, especially for the cylinder head and the main and rod bearings.
