What's in it

You get general specs and engine data for each loader, then structure and function, which explains how the fuel, lubrication and cooling systems work. Testing and adjusting gives you the procedures and standard values for checking compression, injection and valve clearance. Disassembly and assembly covers the teardown, and the maintenance standards and repair chapter tell you what to measure and when a part needs replacing.

It's a compact book for a compact engine. It's useful to engine shops, dealers and owners who want to rebuild rather than replace, or who need to find out why a loader is down on power, smoking or hard to start.

Table of contents

Good to know

Before you strip an engine, it's worth running the tests in this book first. The checks in the testing chapter often show whether the problem is in the engine itself or in fuel, air or electrics around it. That can save a teardown. If it does need opening up, the service limits tell you which parts are still good.

Before you buy

This covers the -6 loader engines. The -5 loaders (WA65-5 to WA80-5) use the 4D95LE-3 and a different book.
