SEN04211-03 covers the -6 versions of Komatsu's small three and four-cylinder diesels: the 3D82AE-6, 3D88E-6 and 4D88E-6. These engines have electronic controls, and the manual reflects that.

Section 00 covers the applicable machines, safety statements and precautions. Section 01 covers the components, electronic controls, cooling system, fuel, oil, coolant, engine specs, service standards and torques.
Section 30 covers testing and adjusting, including the periodic maintenance schedule and procedures, as well as the engine tests and adjustments. Section 40 is fault diagnosis for the engine and its electronic controls.
This book is about diagnosis and maintenance, not a full teardown. It's the right reference when a mini throws an engine fault or won't run right, and the troubleshooting covers the electronic side that older small-engine books don't.
An engine book is most useful on the bench. Measure each part as it comes out, compare it with the limits in the maintenance standards, and you'll know what can be reused before you place a parts order. The torque tables and tightening sequences matter just as much on the way back together, especially for the cylinder head and the main and rod bearings.
