WEBMNEF000 is the first engine shop manual for Komatsu's 4D104E and S4D104E fours, the engines in the WH telehandlers and the WB91R-5 to WB97S-5 backhoe loaders.
4D104E-1 and S4D104E-1 in the WH609-1, WH613-1, WH713-1, WH714-1, WH714H-1 and WH716-1 telehandlers. 4D104E-2 in the WB91R-5. S4D104E-3 in the WB93R-5, WB93S-5, WB97R-5 and WB97S-5. For the later -1E0 and -5E0 machines, use WEBMNEF001.
The book opens with general information and engine specs. Most of it is the overhaul: removing the engine, stripping it down, inspecting the parts and building it back up. The fuel and electrical systems get their own chapter, and the special tools and tightening torques are gathered at the end so you can find them quickly mid-job.
At 186 pages it's a compact engine book, but it has what a rebuilder needs, which is the dimensions and limits to decide whether a part goes back in. Getting the engine out of the telehandler or backhoe is a job for the machine's own shop manual. This book starts once the engine is on the bench.
Machine shops that see these engines across both the telehandler and backhoe ranges will find it handy, since one book covers all four variants.
An engine book is most useful on the bench. Measure each part as it comes out, compare it with the limits in the maintenance standards, and you'll know what can be reused before you place a parts order. The torque tables and tightening sequences matter just as much on the way back together, especially for the cylinder head and the main and rod bearings.
Check the machine model and the engine plate. If your machine ends in -1E0 or -5E0, this is not your edition.
