John Deere JD380, JD480-A and JD480-B Forklifts Workshop Service Repair Manual (TM-1060)

Information for these older John Deere forklifts is hard to come by. TM-1060 is the factory technical manual covering all three models, with specifications listed by model so you know which figures apply to the machine in front of you. It's useful for a yard or farm that still relies on one, and for anyone bringing one back into service.

John Deere JD380 (3-cylinder diesel, 46 hp gross), JD480-A (gasoline or diesel) and JD480-B (4-cylinder diesel, 66 hp gross). Originally published 1979; this edition dated Mar-84.

What this manual covers

The general section covers specifications, predelivery, tune-up, lubrication and tractor separation. Engine covers diagnosis, basic engine, lubrication, governor and speed control, and cooling. The fuel section has separate carburetor and injection pump groups to match gas and diesel machines. After that come electrical (charging, starting, ignition and lighting), power train (disconnect clutch, transmission, reverser, differential and final drives), steering and hydraulic brakes, the hydraulic system with pump and cylinders, and the mast and rear support and axle assemblies. Specs are given in both SAE and DIN units.
