John Deere 90 Skid Steer Loader Technical Manual TM1205

This is the original John Deere dealer repair manual for the old 90 skid steer loader, dated November 1978.

The 90 has an Onan NHC-MS3406C gasoline engine, an air-cooled twin of 983 cc (60 cu in.) rated 23 hp (17.1 kW), with hydrostatic drive. Unlike many later John Deere books, this one includes engine separation, disassembly and assembly, so you can rebuild the Onan from the same manual.

What the manual covers

• General specs, lubrication and periodic service
• Gasoline engine separation, disassembly and assembly
• Fuel system: carburetor and governor
• Electrical repair: starter
• Power train: hydrostatic pump, hydrostatic motor, final drive
• Steering and brakes
• Hydraulic pump and cylinders
• Operation and tests: engine, electrical, power train and hydraulic testing with fault diagnosis
