John Deere 840, 940, 1040 and 1140 Tractors Technical Manual (TM-4353)

The engine detail is useful for a rebuild: wet, individually replaceable cylinder liners, connecting rods with replaceable bronze pin bushings, tin-plated aluminum-lined bearing inserts, and a gear-driven camshaft that also works the fuel transfer pump. Then electrical, transmission, differential and final drive, steering and brakes, hydraulics, and sheet metal and chassis.
