425 and 445 with Kawasaki FD620D liquid-cooled gas V-twin; 455 with Yanmar 3TNA72C-UJ3 liquid-cooled diesel. TM1517 (Sep99), replaces 15Sep96.

What this manual covers

It covers specs and fluids, serial number locations for the product, engine and transaxle, both engines with specs, component location, theory and repair, the hydrostatic power train, steering, brakes and hydraulics. Standard and metric torque tables and O-ring fitting service are included. Late domestic 455 tractors with CARB/EPA emissions controls have their own fast-idle and fuel control screw procedures, which call for a trained technician and the JDG991 tool. On a machine of this age, the hydrostatic drive and hydraulic lift are common repair jobs, and those sections walk through theory, diagnosis and repair step by step.
